ABOUT ME
Hello lovelies,
I hope you all are as book obsessed as me and can validate my intense need to buy and read every book that looks remotely interesting. Otherwise, what are you doing here?
I have been obsessed with reading for as long as I can remember. Starting with my mother reading Junie B Jones to me before bed and listening to the magic tree house CDs. To every year getting a book from Santa. As a young girl, that book meant the world to me. I felt seen by this mysterious magical man, and it made me feel like an intellectual, superior in some way because I was reading. Perhaps this is where my obsession with magic and fairytales came from. Or maybe I have an overactive imagination that has caused delirium into adulthood that has convinced me to believe in fey, otherworlds, and that one day a magic fey prince will whisk me away to a world full of adventures.
As an adult, I fell in love with romance books. Stepping into romance books, living as the main character for a few days, and feeling love and affection from a made-up character takes the sting of being alone away, even if just for a while. My kindle unlimited subscription has saved me many times from spending hundreds of dollars on romance books. And while some of those books are amazing, I also understand that some are straight trash. But to me, that does not matter. I judge a book based on something other than whether it is going to be a new classic or a best seller. I care not for book politics. I care only about the reading and enjoyment of the story. This blog will not exist to put books or authors down. It is merely a space to discuss my love of literature.
That being said, my book reviews will be brutally honest. I hate buying a book only to start reading and the writing being so bad that I cannot get through the first few chapters. I will discuss plot holes, misspellings, and overall contextual analysis of the books I read. But mainly, I will focus on how the book made me feel, and my favorite parts, all while trying to avoid spoilers for people wanting to learn about the book before buying.
Suppose you are wondering about my qualifications to discuss these matters. While I am currently working on an English degree, I'd say I just enjoy sharing my love of books with others! Overall, I love reading, and I hope you will follow along on my journey of reading new books and enjoying my content. I started tracking my yearly book intake last year, and this year, I will begin a reading challenge and encourage you to read along with me. I will add books monthly and have my email and socials linked for those wishing to discuss the books.
