Hello lovelies,
Okay, okay, I finally read it. After getting through ACOTAR ( A Court of Thorns and Roses) and TOG (Throne of Glass), I finally made it to Crescent city. Now before I begin discussing the amazing story that is CC, I must start off with some facts. One, I am a TOG girly more than an Acotar girly. DO I love Feyre and my bat boys, yes, yes I do. However Celaena Sardothien ( if you know, you know) I love her so much more! She is cunning, brave and so sneaky I am obsessed! Crescent City is Throne of Glass coded. Bryce is an incredible lead character and I feel like she and Celaena would be besties. Overall the book was really good. I didn’t seem to have difficulty like some did with the world-building. As a fantasy lover, I find many books often have this complex back-story and world-building, so perhaps I am used to reading it? Overall the story is really well written and the mystery, much like Throne of Glass, kept me intrigued. The romance aspect was good, although Sarah J kept us waiting for a WHILE! It was worth it In my mind. To be completely honest I liked this amount of spice better than her other books because it didn’t overtake the storyline. If I want smutty romance I'll read a romance book, not a fantasy adventure novel. The length of this book is absolutely insane. It is basically Kingdom of Ash length (the 8th book in TOG) which is absolutely uncalled for. However, I will say I ate up this book like I was starving. My friend and I agreed to read only 10 chapters a week and after the first two weeks, we had both finished it. Honestly, as much as Throne of Glass is my favorite series that I’ve read in awhile, Crescent City might be one of my favorite books. It is in my new top ten. As it is always changing, I'll have to keep you posted. I honestly recommend this book so much for those of you who love a good fantasy read. The world is complex, and the magic system is interesting. While I know it’s an undertaking I would highly recommend you read the whole SJM universe. Her worlds do tie into one another and if everyone is correct we're gearing up for a Marvel endgame level book series conclusion in the near future. Overall, this book has so many plots, it really kept me guessing and I didn’t see the end coming. I had guessed a couple of things about Bryce, but overall the ending shocked me. When I first started reading it I thought that this book was a murder mystery masquerading as a fantasy book, which it kind of is. But then when I got more into it I noticed more of the world-building at the beginning coming into play. The magic system played a much bigger part of the storyline than I expected given where the book starts. The interpersonal relationship of each character is thought out and super meaningful by the end. I cannot rave about this book enough! My favorite line in the whole book is when Bryce says “Surprise”, when you get there just know so much shit is about to happen its not even funny. This book has made me rethink the whole SJM universe, and I will never look at a vacuum the same. Happy reading and let me know what you think of Crescent City!

Also do you guys tab? Sometimes I feel like I am a maniac when it comes to tabbing.
