Hello Lovelies,
An author I will be recommending today is Meghan Quinn, she writes romance books. I don't read a lot of books outside of romance and fantasy. However, when it comes to romance there is one very particular type that I will eat up so quickly. That sub-genre would have to be college sports romances. I don't know if it's because I’m 24 and still in college, or if it just is because of my obsession with men who do sports, but this would have to be my favorite subgenre of romance. Typically, I am a hockey or baseball sport girly, when it comes to romance books but I'm not too picky. I also read other types of romance books, but this tends to be where I sit comfortably in romance. My favorite group of books by Meghan Quinn are the Brentwood Boys books.
They include:
The locker room, The dugout, The lineup, The trade, The change-up, The setup, The strikeout, and The perfect catch. (The dugout is my favorite)

I love the way she writes because she will create this world, or university where this group of friends plays a sport, or this team maybe not necessarily friends plays a sport. Then she inserts these fun, relatable female main characters who fall in love with these teammates. In each book you get to see these other characters and learn about them before their books, and then when the next book comes you get to see the other characters' love stories maybe starting that you've already read, or you get more information on how they've ended after the books themselves. I really love the way she writes because of this fact; I think it adds a certain level of depth that most romance books don't have. While you could read all of her books as one-offs, I consider them to be a series because of this fact. I really enjoy getting these cameos from books I read already, and another book that I really liked of hers was “Kiss and Don't Tell”, which is a hockey romance book and also a part of a series that she has written. There is references to the college that the Brentwood boys go to. I think there's just something so special about reading romance books by the same author, knowing that they all take place in this world you've already been in. I think it also helps add this sense of ease when you go into reading the book because you already know what this world is like, and it adds this familiarity that brings you into it even more.
I personally absolutely loved the Brentwood Boys series I read every single one of them and did so in a matter of weeks. I'm still reading the hockey romance series that Kiss and Don't Tell, is a part of, and I absolutely loved it. Kiss and Don't tell had me laughing out loud multiple times. I think it's an incredible book I forgot how much I loved her writing; I had read The Brentwood Boys about a year ago and had moved on to other romance authors, and then recently read Kiss and Don't Tell and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed her book. I feel like the failing of some romance authors is the fact that they don't have any world-building or plot, and while Meghan does use tropes, we've all seen before, she somehow still makes them really enjoyable. For all my romance girlies out there, go pick up one of her books, give it a chance, and let me know whether or not you like it. A lot of her books are available on Kindle Unlimited so if you have that subscription service it's definitely really helpful to be able to read a lot of her books, If not she has a website you can get them from as well as you can order them on Amazon.
